"We coordinate the translation process. We have different sworn-in translators we have agreements with — they freelance through us. One stop for all languages."
Gems Printing and Translation Agency has been operating since 2000 — formerly known as KHV-S Translation Services — and coordinates a network of sworn, certified translators across all major language pairs.
Where individual translators handle one or two languages, Gems is the single contact that covers them all: from French and Mandarin to Oshiwambo and San. Law firms, government ministries, NGOs, and private clients receive translated, certified, and printed documents through one professional relationship.
"From the Kavango to the Karas, from Oshana to Hardap — every Namibian community deserves to be heard in their own language." Serving all 14 regions of Namibia since 2000

Frequently asked
questions.
What documents can you translate? +
We translate all official and legal documents — birth certificates, marriage certificates, police clearance certificates, court minutes, notary patents, commercial register extracts, civil status certificates, apostille documents, contracts, academic transcripts, and more. We also translate working documents such as questionnaires, interview guides, NGO reports, and internal correspondence.
Are your translations accepted by Namibian Home Affairs and embassies? +
Yes. Our certified translations are produced by qualified, sworn translators and accompanied by a signed Certification of Translation Accuracy on Gems letterhead. These are accepted by Namibian Home Affairs, the High Court, government ministries, NGOs, and all major embassies in Windhoek. For visa and immigration document translation specifically, see our visa translation page.
How much does a certified translation cost in Namibia? +
Translation costs vary depending on the language pair, document length, and complexity of the content. Because no two documents are the same, we assess each job individually and provide a written quotation before any work begins — at no obligation. Contact us for a same-day quote.
How long does a certified translation take? +
Standard turnaround is 1–2 business days for most documents. Larger volumes or rare language pairs may take longer. For urgent requirements, contact us directly by phone or WhatsApp — +264 81 124 2438 — and we will advise based on your specific document and deadline.
Do you provide court interpreters in Namibia? +
Yes. We provide sworn interpretation for High Court and Magistrate Court proceedings, government hearings, NGO meetings, and formal conferences. Our interpreters cover all 14 Namibian regional languages as well as major international languages. Contact us with your date, location, and language pair to confirm availability.
Can you assist if I am not based in Windhoek? +
Yes. We regularly serve clients across all regions of Namibia and internationally. You can submit documents by email, and we deliver completed certified translations electronically or by courier. Distance is not a barrier — several of our clients have used us from South Africa, Germany, Portugal, and other countries.
What is the difference between translation and certified translation? +
A standard translation converts the content of a document from one language to another. A certified translation includes a signed Certification of Translation Accuracy from a qualified, sworn translator — confirming that the translation is a true and accurate reflection of the original. Certified translations are required for official submissions to courts, government bodies, embassies, and immigration authorities.
Do you offer transcription services in Namibian languages? +
Yes. We transcribe audio and video recordings in English and all Namibian languages. We have experience with research interviews, legal proceedings, government hearings, and corporate recordings. Send us your audio or video file and document length for a same-day quote.
